Configuring PowerHA with IBM FlashSystems and Spectrum Virtualize (SVC) (7.4)
PowerHA integrates with IBM storage technologies under the IBM Spectrum Virtualize (SVC) software stack including IBM FlashSystems (previously called IBM Storwize). This storage software stack come in a range of offerings to meet the different needs of organizations, but are all built on a common software platform. For historical and compatibility reasons, in PowerHA the commands and storage type is referred to by its heritage name of SAN Volume Controller, frequently shortened to SVC.
PowerHA integrates with the Following FlashSystems technologies:
Synchronous Metro Mirror replication
Asynchronous replication technologies including:
Asynchronous Policy-based replication
Global Mirror
Global Mirror with Change Volumes
Point-in-time snapshots with FlashCopy
LUN-Level (Volume) Switching
These technologies can be used independently, or in many cases combined together to fit business needs.
Example Scenarios for SVC Technologies
