Recovering Journal Receivers

Recovering Journal Receivers

STRRCYBRM OPTION(*APYJRNCHG) is intended to be used for restores of journal receivers under specific conditions. It is not intended to be used as an alternative to the IBM i OS command APYJRNCHG.

When STRRCYBRM OPTION(*APYJRNCHG) lists journal receivers with sequence reset or multiple chains, a CPF69AB message may be posted. Adjusting the PERIOD parameter to be more specific for STRRCYBRM OPTION(*APYJRNCHG) will help prevent the error from occurring. Scheduling regular saves of the journals with object level detail information when fully saving libraries of journaled objects can also help prevent the error. It is also recommended to do a full save of journaled objects libraries together with the journals which can help avoid CPF69AB.

If you still encounter the CPF69AB, you will have to use the IBM i OS command APYJRNCHG to manually apply the journal receivers.
